b. 1989, Milton Keynes, England
Elisha Enfield’s work is concerned with the liminal, the betwixt and between. Her subjects linger at the edges of perception; we feel rather than know them to be present. In recent work, Enfield explores the divided history of burnings - from ancient funeral pyres, through witch hysteria, to modern community celebrations. Simple, joyful, yet macabre.
She has been selected for the Wells Art Contemporary, awarded the Landscape Prize at the Discerning Eye and is the winner of Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2022. Her work is held in the DE Collection, National Waterways Museum and private collections internationally.
